Job designations in several government sectors have been specified for 205,807 employees who are currently on a temporary payroll. The move means the male and female employees will now be eligible for a full-time job and promotion. A joint civil service and finance ministerial committee completed the procedure following a Royal order to provide the employees with full-time jobs. Previously, many public sector staff members were working on a wage basis or on other arrangements. As a result, they were deprived of promotions and other benefits. “Authorities received committee reports after studying the dossiers and making sure that they fulfilled the conditions. The 205,807 applications were received from 148 government authorities,” said Abdul Aziz Al-Khunain, spokesman for the Ministry of Civil Service. Regarding employees whose transactions are still being studied, Al-Khunain said: “They too will receive due attention.” __
