A National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) report has revealed that a total of 52 complaints were filed against government agencies and a further 75 against regional emirates. The NSHR said: “We received 14 complaints against the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution, two complaints against the Special Emergency Forces, 128 complaints against police stations and 30 complaints against the Directorate-General of Passports.” According to the report, the vast majority of the complaints concerned administrative issues, prisoners and courts. While other areas that came in for public ire were labor, civil status and personal status issues. The society registered 100 complaints against governorates, 19 against the Expatriates Department, 23 against the Civil Status, 18 against the Directorate-General of Anti-Narcotics and 33 against the General Administration of Traffic. According to statistics, there were 12 complaints against the Criminal Investigation, seven against the Public Security, and 14 against the Civil Defense in addition to complaints against the Highway Patrol Police, Construction Safety and the Security Forces Hospital. The NSHR said: “We sent letters to these governmental agencies notifying them about the complaints filed against them by citizens and residents in all regions.” __
