The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) has appointed 500 male and female supervisors at 26 branches across the Kingdom to crack down on unlicensed training institutes issuing bogus vocational certificates, said Dr. Mubarak Al-Tamai, Director General of the General Administration of the TVTC. Al-Tamai said that these certificates are used by people to get promoted to positions with better pay. He said the TVTC has already closed down a number of unlicensed training institutes. These institutes damage the country's economy, he added. The TVTC will launch an electronic services facility in the next eight months that will enable users to determine the authenticity of certificates and set dates for written and practical tests. He said the facility will help to eliminate any tampering with examination sheets and monitor the performance of authorized private institutes in terms of teaching and training.
