Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, the Kingdom's Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Senior Ulema Panel and Administrations of Religious Research and Ifta, has warned people against posting statements and comments on websites with advice or demands which are scandalous and malevolent. “People who resort to this method definitely want to satisfy their malicious ulterior motives,” he said. Public criticism of this sort is nothing but defamation and character assassination, because this violates the principle of privacy, the Grand Mufti said. He said that those who take recourse to such practices without considering the consequences cause a rift in society. Those who want to give advice or push for certain demands will never resort to publicizing them in this manner, because they seek Allah's reward, the Grand Mufti said. He said such practices serve no one but the enemies of the Ummah, and urged those who want to approach the ruler and officials to follow the proper channels. Commenting on the Grand Mufti's statement, Dr. Khaled Al-Derais, Supervisor of the Crown Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Chair for Ideological Security Studies at King Saud University, said the Crown Prince has repeatedly stressed that ideological security is an integral part of public security and stability. __
