Saudi Gazette Sawa'ed Atheeb, a non-profit Saudi organization for social development, made up mainly of volunteers launched their campaign called Drop & Shop, early this year. Their ultimate aim is to help families in need prepare for winter before the cold weather creeps up on the Kingdom's cities. The goal is to collect used winter clothes that are still in good condition and give them to poor families to help them keep warm this season. Their slogan is: share your warmth and help families in need. The campaign kicked off last week in three major cities - Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar. The elite shops that receive your donations and then distribute them to families in need are Harvey Nichols, Donna Karan, Escape, and DKNY. This summer, the Drop & Shop campaign for the collection of jeans trousers was met with tremendous success and positive feedback as they had collected over 2,700 jeans. More than a 100 families were benefitted with this noble gesture. Therefore, the Drop & Shop campaign extended its work to the winter, but it now seeks sweaters, jackets, and coats. It is very convenient for shoppers to drop off their used clothes at their favorite shopping centers. Many people have an excess of clothes but do not know who to give it to, or are reluctant to make extra car trips to remote areas due to their hectic work and social schedules. This unique organization provides people with the perfect solution; to drop off the items at the mall and get on with your own shopping and errands to run. Drop off locations are at Harvey Nichols and DKNY in Faisaliah Tower in Riyadh, Nujud Center, and Sahara Center in Riyadh. The branches of DKNY in Al-Khayat Center in Jeddah and Al-Rashid Mall in Al-Khobar also welcome your donations of winter clothes. The campaign will last for only the first week of December, so hurry up and spread some warmth this winter! __
