Kinan International Real Estate Development company Tuesday launched “The Giving Box” charity campaign for the holy month of Ramadan. The campaign, launched in collaboration with Makkah Charitable Foundation affiliated with the Muslim World League, aims to collect toys from Kinan's seven shopping malls in Jeddah, Riyadh, Madina, Yanbu and Jubail to present them on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, to more than 31,000 orphans sponsored by Makkah Charitable Foundation. The orphans include 5,000 children in Saudi Arabia, and more than 26,000 others living in various Islamic countries. The press conference at the launch of the campaign was attended by a large number of businessmen, businesswomen, and volunteers. “We are delighted to launch this campaign in collaboration with the Makkah Charitable Foundation inside our commercial centers in a number of cities in Saudi Arabia in the hope of bringing happiness to thousands of orphans inside and outside the Kingdom,” said Marwan Zawawi, acting vice president of Sales and Marketing at Kinan company. “Today, from Roshan Mall in Jeddah, we launch “The Giving Box” campaign, which will also be placed in Kinan's malls across the Kingdom,” he said. Zawawi hoped that the boxes will be filled with toys at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, to present them to the orphans to let them feel the joy of Eid, like all children who have parents to vouchsafe them love, compassion and giving. Zawawi explained that the goal of the campaign is to develop the spirit of giving among all members of society, especially children, and to urge them to donate their extra toys, so that they grow up to do good and to provide a helping hand to the needy, particularly during Ramadan. “There will be an advertising campaign throughout various media outlets to promote the campaign, which will also include many religious events and lectures to urge people to donate.” Makkah Charitable Foundation in Jeddah expressed its appreciation to Kinan for allowing the placement of the campaign boxes inside the company's malls, which have a large number of visitors during the holy month of Ramadan. “We hope to collect the largest possible number of toys for the orphans who are sponsored by the foundation inside and outside the Kingdom,” said Hussein Abdu Al-Ghamdi, Managing Director of Makkah Charitable Foundation in Jeddah. Al-Ghamdi called on citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia to donate as much as they can and to encourage their children to fill the campaign's boxes with some of their toys and gifts, or with toys that they buy from their allowances in order to familiarize them with giving and instill in them the practice of helping the needy, and sharing with them their feelings of joy in these blessed days.
