The Control and Investigation Board (CIB) has started to crack down on education officials found to have been misusing government cars. It has been discovered that several officials who were given cars have allowed other unauthorized individuals to use the vehicles, in contravention of regulations. Furthermore, several employees have been caught by traffic violation surveillance (Saher) cameras, breaking traffic laws. The CIB also discovered that the vehicles were handed over to these employees without informing the General Administration for Services in the Ministry of Education. This violates regulations meant to safeguard government property and prevent any wastage of public funds. Sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that the Ministry of Education has ordered all education administrations not to transfer vehicles to employees until proper authorization has been obtained. Each education administration must have a list of its vehicles and authorized drivers which must be submitted to the relevant general administration. The ministry stressed that all government vehicles must be parked at designated parking lots at the end of working hours. In addition, all doors and windows of the vehicles must be shut. __
