Jeddah police have arrested four teenagers accused of causing the death of an expatriate cleaner whose body was found in Al-Samer district here last week. According to their confession the teenagers tricked the expatriate into getting into their car and taking away his mobile phone and money. However the teenagers insist that they did not murder the man and that he “jumped out of the speeding vehicle.” The crime was reported by a member of the public who found the body of the Asian worker in the eastern part of the city. A medical examination indicated the possibility of foul play. Al-Samer police then interrogated the man's acquaintances to find out if someone bore a grudge against him, but they quickly dismissed this as a possibility. “Investigations showed the victim had a mobile phone with him that day. The police examined the records for suspects with criminal background and accused of robbing mobile phones from pedestrians in the area in the past,” an Al-Samer police spokesman said. The police found a similar case where “four teenagers were accused of robbing a worker after they tricked him into riding in the car with them saying he would be taken to a house to clean.” The witness's testimony led to the driver of the car being tracked down. The driver collapsed on interrogation, confessed to the crime and named his three accomplices. He insisted “the man threw himself out of the car and that killing him was not their intention.” __
