Following his recent successful surgery, King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has received felicitations and best wishes for his early recovery. These have come not only from leaders of other countries and officials in the Kingdom but also from Saudi citizens from all walks of life. Muslims around the world have also sent their good wishes and have expressed their appreciation for the progress of the Kingdom. These felicitations underline the feeling of solidarity between the King and the people who are grateful for what he has done for the country and its citizenry. This general feeling of solidarity with the King and the people's love and respect for him have served as a bond which holds the nation together. It also points to his link with the Ummah here and overseas. This isn't surprising. King Abdullah, who has been a symbol of reforms and developments, has worked for the betterment of the nation and its people. He is also well known for the efforts he has made for Muslims around the world. As Sheikh Dr. Fahd Saad Al-Majid, the secretary general of the Board of Senior Ulema, said on Tuesday, the King has a distinguished position in the hearts of Muslims at home and abroad because of his “gigantic service for the progress and prosperity of the homeland and great service to the Two Holy Mosques and pilgrims as well as Muslims all over the world”. Those who have expressed their felicitations for the King's successful surgery and have wished him an early recovery as well as a long life know the value of the man who believes in dialogue and openness and who has the welfare of the Saudi people and the Ummah in his heart. __
