General Secretariat of the Board of Senior Ulema on Tuesday congratulated King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, the Second Deputy Premier, the Saudi people, and the Islamic nation, on the successful back surgery performed on the Monarch here Monday. Sheikh Dr. Fahd Bin Saad Al-Majid, the Board's Secretary General, said that the King has a distinguished position in the hearts of Muslims at home and abroad, which has been enhanced by his gigantic achievements for the progress and prosperity of the homeland, and great services to the Two Holy Mosques and pilgrims as well as Muslims all over the world. King Abdullah underwent surgery at King Abdulaziz Medical City to tighten the ligaments around his third vertebra. The Monarch had two rounds of back surgery in the United States last year after suffering a herniated disc, leading to a three-month recuperation period outside the Kingdom. Meanwhile, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, received a telephone call from Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait. Prince Naif assured Sheikh Nawaf that King Abdullah was in good health after the surgery. Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of the Eastern Province, congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the success of the surgical operation. Prince Mohammed wished the Monarch continuous health and prosperity.
