Water supply has been restored to nine districts of Jeddah after being disrupted for a fortnight, said Abdullah Al-Assaf, Director of the Water Unit at the National Water Company in Jeddah. The water supply was restored Saturday to Al-Safa, Al-Marwa, Al-Bawadi, Al-Nuzha, Al-Azizyia, Al-Mashrefa, Bani Malik, Al-Sharafiya and Al-Rehab districts. Al-Assaf said that the water supply problem will be resolved in about a month when work is completed on the new main water pipeline from the Briman reservoirs in the east. The pipeline will provide water around-the-clock. He said this gigantic project will also pump water into north and south Abhor, Al-Basateen District, Al-Muhammadia and Al-Shati districts. The project will supply Jeddah with 80 percent of its water requirements. __
