Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, launched Saturday night the “Haj is worship and civilized behavior” campaign in Makkah. “No riots, no rampaging and no chaos during Haj or otherwise,” the Emir said describing the purpose of the campaign, which aims at creating awareness among Haj pilgrims. “Authorities will mete out penalties against whoever violates the regulations, including those of Haj arrangements,” Prince Khaled said at the press conference. “We will not allow any rioting or chaos whether it be during the Haj season or otherwise,” he said adding that the country will repulse any act that may harm the pilgrims. He added that the King Abdullah Project for Building Makkah includes a variety of services and participation of several companies. The project is not restricted to construction and road projects alone, the Emir said. Earlier on Saturday, Prince Khaled reviewed, in a Haj Central Committee meeting, arrangements made by all Haj-related agencies and called for doubling of efforts in serving the pilgrims. __
