Over 25 female volunteers at the Tawafa Establishment of South Asia will look after 250,000 women pilgrims from South Asia. The volunteers will carry out activities and visit residences to educate pilgrims on the performance of Haj and will also guide them at the Holy Sites. Faten Bin Ibrahim Muhammad Hussien, Supervisor of the Saudi Women Volunteers Committee in Haj said: “We have compiled several programs for this year's Haj and coordinated with handicraft makers and productive families in Makkah to make souvenirs which will be distributed to the pilgrims.” She said the volunteers will also “distribute tens of thousands of awareness brochures to pilgrims printed in different languages along with CDs that focus on Haj rituals,” according to a report in Al-Watan newspaper. The volunteers have also been providing comprehensive services to women on health and social matters and visiting sick women pilgrims in hospitals to lift their spirits.
