On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated here today in the Partners Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations held in Istanbul where Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened the forum with participation of a number of countries. Prince Abdulaziz delivered a speech where he conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the participants in the forum. He also expressed the Kingdom's thanks to Turkey for hosting the forum and the efforts exerted by the United Nations in supporting alliance of civilizations. The Deputy Minister announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides $1 million for supporting and enhancing partners of civilizations alliance. Prince Abdulaziz highlights that building global peace, harmony and stability is one of the constants of the Kingdom's policy. He stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports the role of the United Nations in the alliance of civilizations. "In this regard, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud launched the initiative of dialogue among followers of religions, cultures and civilizations," Prince Abdulaziz said. Prince Abdulaziz pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has signed with the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Austria an agreement of establishing King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue among Followers of Religions and Cultures in Vienna. He added that this center aims to enhance dialogue among followers of religions and cultures as well as to support respect, understanding and joint cooperation among peoples.
