The Ministry of Education and the King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Public Education Development Project are teaming up with Intel to train educators in the use of classroom technologies throughout the country. The memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh. It will lead to the training of 100,000 teachers and 10,000 principals in technological programs at boys and girls schools. Dr. Ali Al-Hakami, Director General of the King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Public Education Development Project, said the strategic cooperation between both parties will include several projects such as technical consultations, the professional development of teachers and school principals. Under the MoU terms, Intel Company will apprise the ministry's educational specialists on its plans for developing processors and will provide samples of the new processors for evaluation and use. The memorandum seeks to develop the technical and educational skills of teachers and school principals so that they can deal with educational technology inside the classroom and motivate the next generation of creative students. The memorandum will also enrich the educational material of the National Educational Portal by expanding the use of Intel educational programs in schools. Dr. Jarallah Al-Ghamdi, consultant and general supervisor of information technology in the Ministry of Education, emphasized the importance of partnership agreements with mega companies such as Intel to spread technology in all schools and utilize information technology to develop the education sector. __
