RIYADH: The King Abdullah Project for the Development of General Education “Tatweer” signed a contract in Riyadh Monday with the Holding Company for the Development of Education, to train and prepare new teachers for the classroom. Under the agreement signed by Ali Bin Siddik Al-Hakami, Director of the King Abdullah Project for the Development of General Education and Dr. Abdul Latif Bin Muhammad, the Executive President of the Holding Company for Development of Education, 15,000 female and male teachers will be trained before joining the ministry for the 2011 to 2012 academic year. The project is designed to train all newly-appointed teachers in methodology and pedagogy. It is also aimed at providing new teachers with practical and professional basic teaching and education skills, said Al-Hakami. Bin Muhammad said the company is fully owned by the government and has been created by a Royal Decree to carry out basic training and education support services.
