The Malaysian government is considering establishing a university campus in the Kingdom in the near feature, said Mohammed Khalid Abbasi Abdulrazik, Consul General of Malaysia, here. Some major public universities in Malaysia have already established collaborations with private Saudi universities, Abdulrazik told the Saudi Gazette in an exclusive interview. “The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education is working hand in hand with the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education for the welfare of Saudi students. Due to the high standards of education in Malaysia, the Saudi government is currently encouraging its students to take scholarships to study in top Malaysian universities. Malaysian universities are also offering scholarships to meritorious students from Saudi Arabia,” he said. Currently there are more than 2,500 Saudis studying in Malaysia enrolled under different majors. Some of the majors are: English language, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, Aeronautical), Medicine, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Business (Management, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, International Business). Common advantages of studying in Malaysia include the international educational standards, competitive fee structure and an extensive selection of popular courses. There are 21 public universities in Malaysia. University of Malaya and Universiti Sains Malaysia are among the top 200 universities of the world. Apart from these, other famous universities in Malaysia are the International Islamic University, University Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, University Technology Malaysia, and Universiti Utara Malaysia. At the same time, Malaysia has about 33 private universities and over 500 private colleges. Malaysia also has five branches of foreign universities: Monash University (Australia), Nottingham University (UK), Curtin University (Australia), Swinburne University (Australia), and Newcastle University Medicine (UK). About 100,000 students of various nationalities are enrolled in Malaysian universities. “Certain universities have recently commenced majors like nanoscience and geosciences with in
