The Ministry of Education has made it obligatory for private schools to recruit Saudis as educational supervisors after it noticed a large number of expatriates being appointed to these positions. The ministry directed a Department of Education's committee to hold interviews and recommend suitable candidates. Non-Saudis will be allowed to work for the positions that cannot be held by Saudis for the time being, the ministry added. The ministry also made it compulsory for private school owners to comply with the regulations and requirements for selecting vice principals and has requested them not to appoint any job applicant – Saudi or non-Saudi – without the permission of the Department of Education in their regions. According to the regulations and requirements, all nominees must hold a bachelor's degree in their area of specialization along with a two-year teaching experience. Saudi teachers should be given preference over non-Saudis. The ministry has also urged all schools to comply with the regulations and requirements regarding appointment of school teachers which stipulate that a teacher should be appointed by the school's owner, should hold a degree in the subject that he/she is willing to teach and a four-year teaching experience. The owner should file an application with the Director of Education in the region where the school is located supported with two confidential letters of recommendation by the school principal. __
