The Ministry of Health (MOH) told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that vaccination campaigns in residential districts have not been cancelled and that there are no fake vaccination teams in neighborhoods giving children contaminated vaccines. The MOH called these rumors baseless. Dr. Ziad Memish, assistant deputy minister for preventive medicine, said, “Field vaccination teams will resume the second phase of campaigns and visit the houses to vaccinate the targeted category of children.” Vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella is not detrimental to health nor does it have any complications, Dr. Memish added. The vaccination campaign, which includes citizens and residents, does not target children alone, but anyone in the age range of 9 months-24 years, he said. Meanwhile, the Health Services Program of the Royal Commission of Jubail will start Saturday the first phase of the national campaign of vaccinations against rubella and mumps in Jubail Industrial City. The campaign targets elementary, intermediate and secondary private and public schools. __
