The health ministry vaccinated up to the beginning of this month 5,594,783 children against measles within the framework of a campaign which aims at vaccination of 7,100, 942 children. Director of the administration of the infectious diseases at the health ministry Dr Ameen bin Abdul-Hameed Mushakhas said 79 percent of the targeted children have been vaccinated. The health ministry started the campaign on 12.8.1428 through the primary health care centers as well as primary, intermediate and secondary schools in all regions of the Kingdom. He noted that the campaign aimed at eradicating measles in the Kingdom by 2008.
