The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) has criticized reports by other rights organizations that focus only on the negative aspects of the Kingdom without shedding light on the country's positive attributes. The country's leading rights body raised this issue during a discussion with an American diplomatic delegation from the US Embassy in Riyadh that visited Dr. Muflih Al-Qahtani, Chairman of NSHR, at his office on Tuesday night. The organization stressed that those who prepare international reports on the Kingdom must abide by objectivity and impartiality. During the meeting they also discussed the subject of rights of children born to Saudi women married to foreigners. The discussions dealt with some subjects related to human rights, particularly those related to the rights of children born to Saudi women married to foreigners besides discussing on reports issued by some foreign rights organizations on the Kingdom. Al-Qahtani explained to the visiting delegation the rights of children of Saudi women married to foreigners and the proposals presented by the society to related authorities in this regard. These proposals aim to ensure more rights for them. Also, it was stressed to the delegation the necessity of sticking to objectivity and neutrality and not focusing on negative aspects alone while preparing international reports. This will help authorities reform the existing systems, Al-Qahtani said. The meeting was attended by John Waterman, Second Secretary for Political Affairs at the US embassy; Holy M. Heckman, Third Secretary for Political Affairs; and Ali Al-Ashwah, Political Affairs Specialist. From NSHR's side, the meeting was attended by Consultant Khalid Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhiry, member of the society and Supervisor General for Administrative and Financial Affairs. __
