Info2cell.com partners with Mobily on sports application
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 08 - 09 - 2011

Info2cell.com, the leading mobile application content and service provider in the Middle East, has teamed up with Saudi telecom operator Mobily's developer community to exclusively develop a new iPhone sports application that will provide sports fans with all insider news and up-to-date information about “Al Hilal FC”, one of the most widely supported football clubs in Saudi Arabia. The new service, which can be used by all iPhone users, is part of a series of applications being launched following the recently signed partnership between Info2cell.com and Mobily, which recently launched its developer community, a one stop shop that provides developers with all the resources needed to build mobile apps.
Saudi Arabia is expected to achieve a three-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7 percent in the number of mobile phone subscribers, reaching 46.5 million subscribers by 2012. The robust growth rate is underpinned by sustained investments in the telecom sector with the Saudi Minister of Economy eyeing investments to hit $9.9 billion by 2013 and up to $13.3 billion by 2015.
The iPhone sports application includes a “Main Page” section where subscribers can follow the next team match and a “Team” section that contains information about the club, players and management. The “Multimedia” page contains pictures and videos of the team and players, which users can view and save on the phone gallery. Other sections of the application are the “News” page that allows users to stay updated on the latest news about the club, and the “More” section that contains updated statistics, ongoing agreements with other teams and players, and a list of all mobile services provided by the team.
Bashar Dahabra, founder and CEO, Info2cell.com, said “sustained investments in new technologies and infrastructure has enabled the Saudi telecom sector to expand and evolve, unlocking new and exciting opportunities to deliver great services to subscribers. The launch of the new application is part of Info2cell.com's continuing thrust to deliver a diverse range of premium
