Dr. Abdullah Bin Saleh Bin Abdullah Al-Jasser has been appointed Deputy Minister of Culture and Information in the excellent rank, a Royal order announced in a statement Friday. The authorities concerned have been instructed to carry out the order with immediate effect, the statement said. Al-Jasser started his professional life at the Ministry of Information with a stint at Riyadh TV in 1967. He was sent on a scholarship to the US in 1969, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in radio and television from Michigan University in 1975. He did his Masters' with excellence in radio and TV from the same university in 1977. He obtained his doctorate degree on International Political Media from Oklahoma State University in 1982. He taught “Public Opinion and International Propaganda” as professor at the Faculty of Mass Media at King Saud University. Al-Jasser is the founder of the Media Affairs Sector at the GCC General Secretariat, and a member of the board of directors of several cultural organizations.
