Dr. Ghazi bin Abdulrahman Al-Qusaibi (1940 -2010) at age of 70. He was a Law graduate from University of Cairo in 1961, obtained master degree in International Relations at University of Southern California and the doctorate degree of International Relations at the University of London. He started his academic career as a lecturer, for five year from 1965 -1970 at the Faculty of Commerce, University of Riyadh (now, King Saud University). when he returned back home in 1970, he was appointed as an assistant professor and then as the head of department of political science at the same Faculty for a year, and then as a dean of the faculty from 1970 to 1973. He left the academic career to hold many positions in the government as a director general, a minister and an ambassador. in 1974 he was selected to run Railroad organization as a director General for one year, then he was appointed as minister of Industry and Electricity in 1975. He was appointed as vice Minister of Health in 1982 before he become the minister of health in 1983. He was appointed as Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain to 1993 when he was appointed as Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom. A royal decree issued in 2002 appointing Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi as Minister of Water in 2002. he held that position for two year when another royal order reappointed him as Minister of Labor in 2004, he was responsible for the labor portfolio until he passed away early today. Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi - May Allah rest his soul in peace - has a daughter and three sons. Al-Qusaibi was renowned for his literary activities in poetry and stories and books, he was full of creativity and published a number of poetry collections, both in Arabic and English. He wrote a number of books in Arabic in addition to other articles in English. he was also involved in writing columns in for a number of local newspapers besides many of lectures and interviews in literature, politics, administration and law. -- SPA
