King Abdullah issued a royal decree to appoint 7 new members in the Human Rights Commission and renew 10 memberships. On behalf of members of the HRC, Dr. Bandar Bin Muhammad Al-Aiban, HRC Chairman, expressed his deepest appreciation and esteem to King Abdullah for his support to HRC and approval of the decree, in the second session of the HRC meeting, which was attended by 27 members of the HRC board. “King Abdullah's support has played a major role in accomplishing the HRC mission as the protector of human rights based on the Shariah and the international standards,” he told Okaz/Saudi Gazette. He added that King Abdullah's approval will help the HRC accomplish its sought-after goals focusing on serving the Kingdom and ensuring that its efforts to enhance the culture and values of human rights bear fruit and bring benefits to citizens and residents in the Kingdom. __
