The Higher Commission for the Development of Riyadh (HCDR) has finalized arrangements to host the three-day annual Eid Al-Fitr festival to be held in Qasr Al-Hukm area of the capital city. “The celebrations have significant importance because Qasr Al-Hukm Area has national and historical importance for all citizens,” said Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al-Sultan, Acting Director of the authority's Projects and Planning Center. Al-Sultan said that early preparations for this event began, following directives from Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, HCDR Chairman and Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz, HCDR Acting Chairman. He added that authority's team has finalized preparations at festival's site, which has been decorated with beautiful lights and equipped with best devices. “The festival, organized for the past 20 years, has activities that focus on our social traditions, norms and archeological landmarks such as Qasr Al-Hukm, Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque, Al-Masmak Museum and nearby squares and plazas,” said Al-Sultan. This year, the festival will feature new activities apart from the traditional Saudi dance organized by Al-Dariyah group, which has been the main attraction of the annual event, Al-Sultan added. Popular dance groups will perform folk dances of Kingdom's different regions, with special performances for children, to display the variety of rich cultures across the country.
