The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) is working with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs on a plan to provide land for those who want to set up private museums, said Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, SCTA Chairman. Prince Sultan made the remark while launching the national heritage campaign at the historic Al-Masmak Museum in Riyadh. Addressing a press conference afterwards, he said: “Citizens and residents in the Kingdom, and the outside world, know very little about the country's rich heritage and archeological wealth. The Kingdom has a deep history and has inherited a series of ancient civilizations.” He said the commission is working on a series of documentaries and animated films for children focusing on the Kingdom's past. This will be used to educate them about their heritage and the contribution of their forefathers to human civilization. The SCTA will also soon launch a campaign called the “Caravan of Civilization” which will roam the entire country to inform citizens about the Kingdom's huge archeological wealth, added Prince Sultan. __
