The Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) announced on Wednesday that the study for the rehabilitation project of Daho neighborhood is almost complete. "The Daho project aims to preserve the architectural heritage and old historical sites of Arriyadh in the neighborhood to attract visitors as well as step up commercial activities," the ADA was quoted as saying in a report published today by Arab News. "It also aims to rebuild ruined houses to keep up with the fabric of traditional architecture in the area." The project also aims to promote tourism in the district. Daho is part of the Qasr-Al-Hukm Area Development Project in downtown Riyadh and is home to historical features, including Masmak Palace from where King Abdulaziz spearheaded the foundation and unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
