The deanship for preparatory year at Princess Noura Bin Abdulrahman University, which is ready to welcome new applicants for the 2011-12 academic year, has plans in place to help students succeed. Students will be given an orientation tour to help them get acquainted with and adapt to the university's academic environment, said Dr. Amal Al-Tuaimi, dean of preparatory year at the school. “The university has formed several committees to successfully implement the orientation program in the first semester and meet all student requirements and needs,” she said. The orientation will introduce students to the first-year curricula, bylaws and systems so that they can pass the preparatory year and pursue their undergraduate studies at the schools they attend, Dr. Tuaimi said. Students will also learn about academic obstacles they may encounter and how to overcome them through hard work and perseverance, she said. “Work is underway to provide an academic environment conducive to learning,” Dr. Al-Tuaimi said. Huda Al-Ameel, President of the Princess Noura University, has held several meetings to ensure provision of high-quality services for students, she added. __
