JEDDAH – Samsung Electronics, a global leader in communications, semiconductors, digital media and digital technologies, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Jeddah College of Telecom and Electronics (CTE) to provide technical training programs in the field of electronics as part of its social responsibility initiative. Samsung will assist with the establishment of an integrated center for maintenance training that will be equipped with the latest technical equipment, support, sponsorship, training the accredited trainers of the CTE in techniques and methods of Samsung Electronics, whereby they will be able to impart these teachings to the trainees of the college, charity organizations and foundations, both private and public, through the training courses which will be covered by Samsung. Samsung and the CTE will also exchange experiences and knowledge, thus remaining within the framework of giving back to the Saudi community, and towards achieving the principle of strategic partnership in social responsibility. The agreement was signed by Jae Chun Park, general manager of Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia, and Eng. Fahad Bin Aboud Al Amoudi, Dean of the Jeddah College of Telecom and Electronics. Al Amoudi said "the agreement represents the desire of both sides to transfer their technical knowledge in the field of maintenance for the purpose of developing skills and the professional capacity of the CTE staff. The center, which facilitates under the umbrella of the Social Responsibility and Continuous Training, will enable them to acquire the skills required in the labor market. The agreement is consistent with the strategic objectives of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training in building strategic partnerships with the private sector.”
