RIYADH — Consumer Protection Association (CPA) will launch an awareness campaign in the beginning of Ramadan to protect the rights of consumers, Abdulaziz Al-Shaya, CPA Director of Public and Media Relations, said here Sunday. The aim of the awareness campaign is to highlight eight basic consumer rights that every consumer should be aware of, he said. CPA officials will visit the marketplace and try to educate consumers on how to protect their rights and spend judiciously, said Al-Shaya. “Some thousands of brochures will be handed over to consumers during the month-long campaign,” he said. Meanwhile, Dr. Nasser Al-Tuwaim, CPA Chairman, has welcomed King Abdullah's Royal orders to increase the subsidy for fodder. The King's patronage in the form of subsidy came at the right time when the cost of raw material in the international market was increasing, he said. He said there was a 15 percent increase in the cost of barley in the international market. __
