The Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization said Tuesday that its stock of flour exceeds 600,000 bags. Orders from all clients are met, regardless of the requested quantity, said Ali Sanqouf, Director General of the GSFMO regional branch in Makkah. He said his branch will receive surplus flour from other regions to cope with the increasing demand in Makkah during the holy month of Ramadan. Flour prices in the Kingdom are the cheapest in the world, he added. In an effort to ensure there are sufficient supplies of wheat, a shipment of 58,000 tons arrived Tuesday at Jeddah Islamic Port and is being unloaded; another shipment will arrive Thursday, Sanqouf said. The Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization is executing three new projects including Al-Jamoum Mills, located between Makkah and Jeddah on an area of more than one million square meters, Sanqouf said. Concrete silos with a storage capacity of 250,000 tons of wheat are being built and two mills with a daily production capacity of 1,200 tons will be set up. The project will be completed in three years, he added. The Jeddah branch's mills' storage capacity is being expanded, with a targeted increase of 140,000 tons, Sanqouf said. The fourth mill is also being updated to raise its daily production of wheat from 300 tons to 450 tons, he added. __
