More than 400 seasonal and permanent jobs at parks and recreational establishments were made available for young people from secondary schools and universities for the Taif Summer Festival 2011, according to Muhammad Sa'ad Al-Thubaiti, Deputy Secretary General of the Committee to Promote Tourism. He said this was part of efforts to nationalize jobs in the private sector and provide seasonal jobs for young people who want to occupy themselves with something beneficial during the holiday. The exercise is being carried out in cooperation with the Tourism Development Council and the private sector, he added. He said there are several developments at this year's Taif Summer Festival including the introduction of the same events at more than one place to make it easier for visitors. Other events were moved indoors because of the high temperatures. This includes entertainment activities and summer centers for visitors and children. Direct phone numbers were allocated for complaints about prices of hotels and furnished apartments, he said. This was to curb price manipulation that would affect Taif tourism, he added. __
