The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned consumers not to use bottled water distributed under the brand “Donya” by Wadi Al-Henyia Healthy Water Factory in Al-Kharaj because of the presence of bromine beyond the permitted levels. SFDA said it had collected from the market samples of the brand produced on different dates and found high levels of bromine, a chemical used in the treatment of water. It also urged the authorities concerned to ensure that “Donya” bottled water is removed from the shelves. __
