Abdullah: Extend all assistance to students

King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has directed the concerned authorities to provide all opportunities to enroll graduates, males and females, of general secondary education certificate in universities, colleges and institutes of their choices.
King Abdullah was presiding over the Cabinet meeting here, Monday.
Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said after the meeting that the Monarch also directed to provide employment opportunities for all graduates and job-seekers, showing the importance of continuing efforts exerted in both public and private sectors in order to implement the Royal Order to that effect.
King Abdullah also briefed the Cabinet on his meetings and consultations with world leaders including his talks with King Abdullah of Jordan. During the meeting here on Sunday, the King had reaffirmed full support to Jordan to confront all challenges. Both the leaders also expressed their keenness to promote cooperation between their respective countries.
In Monday's meeting, the King also briefed the Cabinet on the content of a message he received from Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari.
Minister Khoja said the Cabinet listened to a number of reports on the current events and their fallouts on the Arab arena, stressing the importance of giving priority to national interests in order to achieve security and stability and to stem bloodshed.
On Mideast peace process, the Council of Ministers welcomed the French initiative to launch Palestinian-Israeli negotiations on the basis of pre-1967 border, to start negotiations on borders and security, to pave the way for tackling other crucial issues and reaching the goal of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
The Cabinet congratulated Ban Ki-moon, on his re-elction as secretary general of the United Nations.
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Justice – or his deputy – to talk with the French side on a draft agreement in the domain of judicial relations between Kingdom and France and to sign it.
After reviewing a report submitted by the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology on amending Paragraph (C) of item (1/8) of the National Plan to Respond to Radioactive and Nuclear Emergencies (NPRRNE) issued by the Cabinet Resolution no: (263) dated 1/9/1429, the Cabinet approved its amendment to read as follows: “This plan is to be reviewed by NPRRNE, on a periodic basis, that is once per annum in the first three years following its approval, and then once every two years, and the committee may suggest amending it, and the amendment is to be approved by the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior.”
