Jeddah flood disasterRIYADH: The chairman of the Control and Investigation Board (CIB) has said that the investigation into the Jeddah flood disaster of November 2009 is still going on, with some 2,447 cases looked into by the CIB's dedicated team during the last financial year. Saleh Aal Ali told Al-Hayat Arabic daily that the cases involved “forgery, bribery and abuse of power”, and that the CIB's work also covered “embassies and consulates and government bodies abroad”. Aal Ali also said that the media in its various forms has also provided a source of information for the CIB. “The Board follows up with government bodies any inquiries, requests or complaints that have been directed to them through the media to elicit a response to what has been published,” he said.
