JEDDAH: Paolo Allego and Malou Nidoy added titles to their names when their respective scratch of 253 and 246 supremely decided the championship for the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group May BowlFest 2011 at the Bowling City here. Top-qualifying Class D elimination with games of 278, 243, 240, 232, 226, 226, 222, 222, and 221, Allego directly entered the finals with 9-game scratch series of 2110. He was joined by 286 hi-game achiever Rolly Vistal with 2108, Sol Cuenca (2105), Rudy Carillo (2000), Tito Cruz (1965) and semis survivor Fred Cuenca. Jett Santos was also direct finalist with 2214 scratch series taking top post for class C with Marlon Heredia and Jerry Carredo joining with 2112 and 2102. Joey Calapatia reached class C finals via beating Rudy Jamon on semis. Bobby Baraquel top-qualified class A and turned out the first finalist on 9-game series of 2387 including hi-game record of 299 completed with 278, 277, 266, 259, 257, 256, 248 and 247. A week prior to finals, Zaldy Bacero scored 255 to be finalist with 2374 topped by 279. Randy Mata met Baraquel and Bacero via beating Ric Reformado and Rudy Punzalan on the semis. Melvin Lising got into the finals with his top-qualifying scratch series of 2265 including hi-game record of 279. Lising completed his series with 256, 256, 255, 249, 245, 245, 242 and 238. Marcelo Manalo joined Lising on the finalist height on the last day of elimination totaling 2,250 with top game of 278, while Jack Jarin endured the challenges of Priz Calidro and Johnny Macalintal to complete the 16 title aspirants. Pre-ultimate game exhibited a healthy foundation with Mata and Baraquel in equilibrium with handicapper Allego, Heredia, Cuenca and Vistal. But the situation change when the warming Allego turned red hot with seven strikes to be far up with 277 looking down on Cuenca, Heredia, Vistal, Cruz and Carillo who contended with 235, 220, 215, 205 and 202. This gigantic extrication of Allego, which he followed up with championship decider 206 chilled most of the finalist except for Mata and Manalo who kept kegling offensively despite of dwelling the 9th and 8th places. Antinero top-qualified with 2023, Nidoy paced with 2019 but won hi-game with 247 and last direct finalist was Eloisa Fernandez with 2,010. Determining four more finalists, 4th to 15th qualifiers underwent 4-game elimination wherein Sally Sa?osa, Carmen Lim, May Lourdes and Aisah Silabay were advanced by their respective contention of 772, 755, 746 and 745. Ester Santoc tied Silabay but the latter prevailed 33-35 rule of consistency. First salvo of the final match was dominated by multi-titlist Antinero whose 203 reined the 196, 184 and 177 of Sa?osa, Nidoy and Lim. The ultimate round was at first in usual pace, but halfway of the game Nidoy enormously sparkled with strikes all the way for 256 and be May Bowlfest champion at 440 making Antinero the first runner-up with 408, Lim third placer at 398 and Sa?osa at fourth with 370. Fernandez, Lourdes and Silabay settled for consolation Prizes. Other qualifiers were Evelyn Santoc, Imelda Sayago, Bing Baraquel, Vangie Lim, Mariz Resano, Minda Guevarra and Alma Baylon. __
