member African gang has been arrested for allegedly stealing telecom devices worth SR1 million from representatives of telecommunications companies. The gang specialized in smashing windows of the companies' cars and stealing the devices and prepaid mobile recharge cards. Several police stations received reports from sales representatives of several companies of the thefts. Based on these complaints, the director of Riyadh Region Police asked the Criminal Investigations Department to form an investigation team and track down the perpetrators. The CID team analyzed the modus operandi of the criminals, and expanded the search to different areas, former convicts and suspicious locations. After establishing a lead, a trap was set. The thieves were arrested one after the other and led police officers to where they had hidden the stolen items. They also signed detailed confessions of their deeds.
