JEDDAH: Jeddah Police have launched a hunt for a man suspected of being responsible for at least two rapes of girls, one aged six, the other nine. According to police, the suspect targets girls alone in market areas and wedding halls, and reports of instances with similar descriptions have been received from parents in the districts of Al-Kandara, Al-Balad, Al-Jami'a and Al-Sharfiya. The man, who police say changes his vehicle in a bid to avoid identification, lures girls into his car and takes them to unknown locations. He is also reported as having caused serious facial injuries to his victims. Misfir Al-Ju'aid, spokesman for Jeddah Police, said the Director General of General Security and the head of Makkah Police who oversees the wider region are following the case.
