KHOBAR: Drifters in Al-Khobar are bracing themselves for the second round of the Red Bull Car Park Drift qualifier Thursday at the Fouad Center parking lot. This round will pick the second Saudi competitor for the final rounds, which will take place in the Lebanese city of Zahleh on July 22. That will determine the winner of the Middle East title. The first seat was booked by Saudi driver Hatem Nato. He won last week's qualifier in Riyadh. The challenge is expected to be hot especially after the Riyadh round, which saw nail-biting competition among the 32 participants. The third round of qualifiers in the Kingdom will be held in Jeddah on June 9. Ford Team ready Al-Jazirah Vehicles Company has meanwhile announced that it will support Ford Racing Team (Ford Mustang) in Thursday's event. Abdul-Hadi Al-Qahtani Team has agreed to represent the company in the competition onboard a Ford Mustang car equipped with the latest motorsport technology specifically for drifting races. The team is supported and sponsored by the National Commercial Bank “NCB” and Castrol. Sabah Abdullah Al-kredes, Al-Jazirah Vehicles Company's Sales and Marketing director, expressed his satisfaction over the team's readiness. He said: “The participation of Al-Jazirah Ford Team in motor sport competitions in the Kingdom comes through our plans to support Saudi youths in this field.”
