DAMMAM: A Saudi pilot has died after his Royal Saudi Air Force F-15 plane crashed during a training exercise at the “Training Zone” of the King Abdul Aziz Air Base in the Eastern Province, said an official source at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation Monday night. An investigation is now under way into the cause of the crash that led to the death of Pilot Officer Saif Bin Abdullah Al-Juwaihel, a source said. “May Allah accept Pilot Officer Saif Bin Abdullah Al-Juwaihel and bestow patience upon his family and relatives,” the source added. Senior officers and colleagues at the Eastern Province Command at the King Abdul Aziz Airbase in Dhahran performed the funeral prayers after which his corpse was airlifted to Riyadh where he was buried alongside family members. His bereaved colleagues said he was one of the most competent pilots. Recalling the last minutes of his death, his colleagues said he spoke to them, after they performed the Isha prayers in congregation, about the blessings of supplications after the day's final prayer. They said this was the last words he uttered. The tragic incident took place at about 9.30 P.M.
