A special air ambulance ordered by Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, moved British Embassy official Ian Walter Baharie to King Fahd Military Medical Complex in Dhahran, Sunday night. Medical personnel at the hospital said Tuesday that the British official was in stable condition and could be released on Thursday. The air ambulance used to evacuate Baharie belongs to the Civil Defense Helicopter Base in the Eastern Province. The British official suffered a health crisis Sunday night while he was on Al-Batha–Haradh Road. His family was also with him. Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of the Eastern Province, telephoned the stricken man's wife to check on his health and Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, was in continuous contact with the man's family until he was admitted to the hospital. Lt. Col. Mansour Al-Dowsari, spokesman of the Civil Defense in the Eastern Province, said Baharie received prompt treatment after he arrived in Dhahran. “The man was received at King Fahd Military Medical Complex in Dhahran by Brig. Gen. Sa'eed Bin Ahmad Al-Malhi, acting director general of Civil Defense in the Eastern Province,” Al-Dowsari said. “He was rushed to the hospital to undergo tests and receive treatment.” Baharie expressed gratitude for the officials' efforts and concerns.
