Fourteen people have been killed in a collision between two trains in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, officials said Wednesday, according to dpa. The two passenger trains collided late Tuesday near Gorakhpur town about 270 kilometres east of state capital Lucknow, federal Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda said. "Fourteen people were killed and over 40 injured," railways spokesman Anil Saxena said. The Krishak Express travelling from Varanasi to Gorakhpur missed a signal to stop and rammed another train from behind, throwing three of its coaches off the track, Saxena said.
