Congratulate Bashar for winning the presidency!
Al-Riyadh Editorial
Published in Alriyadh on 12 - 05 - 2014

Isn't it one of the Arab Miracles to invent the leader's character and provides it with extreme dignity which reaches the level of holiness and then cooping against him by his opponents?! Isn't it a mistake that he is (claimed to be) elected under a high percentage that has never been achieved by any democratic country's leader along the history?! Isn't it strange that the republic apply the principle of inheritance (of presidency) and call through propaganda for electing the only candidate who is declaring the democracy of his country through himself and allowing no one to object such declaration?!
Al-Assad, the son, does not need to hold elections for winning the presidency of Syria due to that he reached the governance through inheriting it from a father whose judgment is an irrevocable one that never accepts any preach of its permanence. Moreover, he is not required to get or win a certain percentage even if is less than the 99% as long as the issue is pre-prepared while the list he holds (of other candidates) is just for improving the image of elections. However, the president and the other candidates for presidency have forgotten that the simplest Syrian farmer knows that this farce is a part of accumulated events for usurping the power where a whole country, including all of its establishments and cultural heritage, has become mortgaged for accepting a certain person or destroying the whole country on the heads of its people as the nation does not have the right of choosing, accepting or refusing.
The said elections are supported by the military power where he who chooses not to elect the president shall be the scapegoat. Thus, those who are going to be the actors of this play are already from the favorite supporters who belong to the same sect. In this regard, the general impression had already been proved by Refat Al-Assad, Bashar's uncle, to President Bashar himself when he had threatened Damascus from any coop attempt, when he used to be the commander of the so called "Defense Brigades" & menaced that he is going to open a tunnel by tanks from Al-Muhajereen Area to the farthest borders of the capital. Thus, the principle of bequeathing the power or governance by force is an operation that had started through the coop of the father Al-Assad, got completed by Bashar and had already been protected by the uncle.
For sure, approving and blessing the president's election once again shall be from the side of Russia, Iran, the rest of chorus in Lebanese Hezbollah and Al-Maliki of Iraq. However, he will not find anyone who is going to approve or agree about this farce at the global level due to that it is defective in regard to legitimacy and principle as long as the tanks and military aircraft of the leader are still celebrating conquering a village close to the Lebanese borders and the regime lacks the popular consensus which request from him the basic principles of the free elections if it wants to prove that it is a good regime.
Nobody believes that a homeless nation whose remains are under the mercy of arms is able to accept its killer and expeller to the Diaspora as its president. This is a part of the farces of coops regimes that introduced chaos to this (Arab) nation through imitating other experiments which cannot survive in the Arab countries due to the different atmospheres, policies, nature, culture and traditions of the nations. This is similar to the time during which we imported the struggle, nationalization and military governments which resulted in another misery which is not less destructive to the mind, entities and resources than the ruling family regime protected by the sect. This situation has reached the level of that the names of homelands such as Iraq, Syria and Libya are threatened by demise for the interest of the sectarian governments (which are) protected by their militias. Al-Assad is a part of the game (which is) run by Iran and Russia for shredding this country the way it has happened earlier in Iraq. The conspiracy is not a Zionist one the way these regimes are claiming due to that it is made especially for them under pre-planned for targets.
President Bashar shall enjoy elections which are going to drive him to his palaces and adventures fields. Such elections do not need promotions and protocols which are similar to the absurd theatre and black comedy as long as the helpless Arab citizen in Syria has no option other than either death or accepting the reality imposed by the president and interpreted to an issue that no one can discuss it or retreat to escape it.
The Arab condition which has permitted that we become the farce of the world is being repeated through the image of Al-Assad and other dictators. The issue is not a matter of underdevelopment. It is rather a retardation imposed on a nation which has sought life but has faced an organized death.
