On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, patronized here today evening the awarding ceremony of 36th King Faisal International Prize. Upon arrival at Prince Sultan Grand Hall at Faisaliah Center, the Crown Prince was received by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Education and Director General of King Faisal Foundation and Chairman of King Faisal International Prize Commission; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince and Second Deputy Premier; and a number of princes. The Crown Prince received Nigerian Vice President Namadi Sambo and the winners of the prize. Then, a speech ceremony was held on this occasion. The Secretary General of King Faisal International Prize Dr. Abdullah Al-Saleh Al-Othaimeen announced the winners as follows: - Shaikh Dr. Ahmed Lemu of Nigeria (Prize Branch: Service to Islam). - Professor Abdulwahab Abou Sulaiman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Prize Branch: Islamic Studies - Topic: Cultural Heritage of Makkah Al-Mukarrama). - Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim of Iraq (Prize Branch: Arabic Language and Literature - Topic: Studies on Modern Arabic Novel). - Professor Yuk Ming Dennis Lo of China - United Kingdom (Prize Branch: Medicine - Topic: Non-Invasive Diagnosis of Fetal Diseases). - Professor Gerd Faltings of Germany (Prize Branch: Science - Topic: Mathematics). At the end of the awarding ceremony, the Crown Prince and the winners attended a dinner banquet held on this occasion. The awarding ceremony was attended by a number of princes, ministers and senior officials.
