Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Commander of the National Guard, who is also Chairman of the Higher Committee for the National Festival for Heritage and Culture, opened this evening the pavilion of the Peoples Republic of China at the 28th Janadriyah festival, in the capacity of China as the guest of honor of the festival. China's Minister of Culture Tsawe Woo and China's ambassador to the Kingdom Li Ching attended the opening ceremony. Upon arrival, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz was received by Deputy Commander of the National Guard and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee of the festival Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri and senior officials. Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz toured the pavilion and was briefed on its contents. He also saw a folkloric show by a Chinese band. To mark the visit, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah said in written remarks that he was pleased to have seen the contents of this pavilion which confirms the deep-rooted civilization of China, sending his greetings to the peoples of China. In a press statement following the visit, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz paid tribute to late Prince Badr bin Abdulaziz, former Deputy Commander of the National Guard for a long time, noting that the opening of the festival was postponed for the death of Prince Badr, one of the supporters of Janadriyah festival. However, he invited the public to see this year's festival when it was opened.
