The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, sent a cable of condolences to President Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the victims fell due to the earthquake which hit the region of Azerbaijan. 'We have painfully learnt about the earthquake that hit the region of Azerbaijan, north-west of the Islamic Republic of Iran, resulting in deaths, injuries and damage. In my name and on behalf of the people and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I extend to your Excellency and to the families of the victims and the people of Iran our deep condolences and sincere sympathy' the King said in a cable.
