Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir region, has directed to form urgently a committee from the Governorate, King Khalid University, Police and Civil Defense to discuss the reason of the fire which broke out here yesterday at the College of Education for Girls. The Prince thanked Allah Almighty that the fire resulted in minor injuries, and that most of the cases have left the hospital. For his part, the Information Spokesman of Directorate of Civil Defense in Asir Colonel Mohammed Abdulrahim Al-Asemi pointed out that at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the Command and Control Center of Civil Defense in Asir region was informed of a fire at the College of Education for Girls in Abha and immediately civil defense teams moved to the site and they noticed a limited fire in a small room ??2 أ— 2 square meters used for storing, noting that 2000 female students and 80 lecturers and administrators were evacuated from the building and the fire was extinguished. He said that 29 cases resulted from asphyxia, suffocation and panic were transferred to nearby hospitals, 27 cases were discharged immediately after treatment, and only two cases remained in a hospital.
