Torrential rains poured down on Asir region shutting down traffic on the roads linking the region for 24 hours as flood water rose on the streets of Abha and other adjacent cities and towns in the region. Roads leading the dangerous Dhalea descent were closed. Spokesman of the Asir Civil Defense Department Maj. Muhammed Abdulrahim Al-Asemi said they received several reports about some cars stuck in heavy floods. Gusty winds and lightning from Thursday afternoon's thunderstorms caused several fires across the region, he said.– Okaz __
