Yesterday, King Abdul Aziz University signed a research cooperation agreement with Tokai University to develop a plane which was designed and produced by Aerospace Engineering Dept of the University to work with solar energy instead of fuel. Adnan Bin Hamza Mohamed Zahed (the Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research) stated that this agreement is one of the cooperation agreements between King Abdul Aziz University and six Japanese universities in Sha'ban 1431 a.h. He noted that the university is doing its best to activate these agreements held with Japanese universities in many fields such as renewable energy, desalination, regenerative medicine (as researches about stem cells and the technologies of manufacturing the aforementioned materials). He said "The graduate students and faculty members of engineering major would take advantage of this research cooperation practically regarding the solar energy uses that would lead to a mass manufacture by modern world technologies in the future". Along with research cooperation, Tokai University presented a solar-powered car they designed, and it ranked first in many world competitions and considered one of the practical applications of energy power uses.
